Title: Import Itunes Playlist
Post by: sholder on July 05, 2004, 10:06:23 am
I'm trying to move my wife from iTunes to MC, but I can't seem to figure out how to import her playlists.  I have the mp3's on a DEC200 and use that as my library, so I need to preserve the file locations.

Help?
Shane

I'm trying to move my wife from iTunes to MC...

You could use telekinetic energy to materialize her again before transportation to a new software.

;D  Sorry, I couldn't resist...  Actually I don't know, maybe somebody else can help. Did you search the Portable Digital Players Forum (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=8)?

I found this solution:

- Right click a Song List in iTunes (PC-version) and export it to .txt format.
- Open that file in Excel (or any other spreadsheet).
- Go to the "Location" column, copy the contents of the column to clipboard (except the header) and paste it to Notepad.
- Save this new notepad file with .m3u extension.
- Import that .m3u file to Media Center.
- The new playlist appears in Imported Playlists.

Listening to: 'Wonderful' from 'Bare' by 'Annie Lennox' on iTunes 4.2.0.72    ;)

Actually it was quite easy. I checked the export format and wrote the instructions.
