Hi,
Found an interesting news about the world's longest concert that started 3 years ago and will play for 639 years !!

Just wondering if anyone will be ripping this one ? ;)
As they say in the news : "We need to secure the future,"
Have a great day folks,
Christian

I guess that it depends on how fast CD-ROM drives we have in the year 2640 when the concert finally ends and the live recording can be published.
Probably the latest stable MC 646.0.149 or the latest alpha MC 647.0.012 rips then at 7700x speed. So the ripping takes about one month. If the latest Windows Very Longhorn is then stable enough there is a chance to get it ripped. Listening to it will still happen at 1x speed so it takes another 639 years before we can be sure if the rip was OK.

That's not the main problem. Each generation has a shorter attention span (look at hte MTV generation - anything longer than four minutes is boooring), so my guess is that in 636 years the attention span is down to just about 10 seconds. Still, I'm sure the technology will be there to speed the concert up after it's ripped, so it only lasts ten seconds. ::)

By then CD drives will be long gone, the iPod will not even be a faint memory.
All music will be wired directly to our brain by simply thinking about it.
Now that is progress ;D

Yeah...will you turn down that brain, boy? You'll scramble it with that noisy music!
I wonder what kids then will use to make parents say: "Turn down that noise!" For my generation it was the early days of metal, with Maiden, Kiss, Priest and so on. Than came grunge, which really sucked, just like nu-metal (Korn, Slipknot). And then the kids went to hip-hop, since no amount of lead could scare parents who listened to black metal when they were young! So maybe it's opera next? ;D

Agree. From the bottom of my heart.

Ooops. Maybe I belong to the next generation. But I'm not as young as you may think...

Ok, I'm with you! ;D
