Title: CD copier.....
Post by: lzosimo on July 14, 2004, 06:50:09 pm
I also use Roxio 7, and really like the CD copier function.
Can MC10 do someting like that?

There's no "one-button" solution, but what you can do (if you have two drives) is put the CD in drive 1, select all of the CDA files, right click > Send To > your burner, then burn the CD. If you only have one drive I think you have to rip to WAV first, then burn. Not sure if there's another one-drive solution (I have two drives and I just use the function I mentioned).

Enjoy! :)

The problem with a "CD Copier" is the potential for abuse. Applications such as "Clone CD" (no longer available in it's original form) clone the CD --- everything -- so you could make copies of Microsoft Office installation disks for example. If you've ever priced MO, you know you're talking about high dollar copying.
In the case of music CDs, you could make copies of protected disks -- a definite No-No.
I don't really want to restart the old argument about Digital Rights, archive copies, etc. I just wanted to point out why Media Center will most likely never have a Copy CD function.
Crowfan's solution works well for copying the music on a CD to another CD.

You can have a CD copy function without trying to overcome CD copy protection or trying to do anything illegal, e.g., Roxio & Nero.
