Title: Playback Engine Window
Post by: Tuber on July 19, 2004, 09:59:56 am
First, sorry to be posting in the Media Center Forum when this question mainly concerns Media Jukebox. I posted in that forum, but things are pretty sparse over there. I think all the experts are over here :)

I'm running MJ 8.0.400, with Win XP Pro w/ all updates. When I alt-tab through running applications when MJ is running, I get a phantom option (represented by a blue "com" icon) that I have seen labelled as the "JRiver Playback Engine Window." Closing it has no apparent effect on MJ. The phantom window is not a huge deal, just an annoyance.

The phantom option shows up with Tweak UI's alt-tab replacement installed, and also shows up (without Tweak UI) using my Logitech mouse alt-tab button replacement software. It does not show up with XP's native alt-tab process. I've sleuthed this out quite a bit and am confident that there is something going on in MJ that is making this happen (in conjunction with the OS).

During the development of MC, both Doof and Marty3d reported issues with this phantom window. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anybody shed any light? Thanks a lot.

I saw your post in the MJ forum the first time, but I have no idea what it could be.

It's possible that it is related to another application or to a third party plugin.

Jim,

Thanks for the response. You were right to suspect a 3rd party plug-in. Uninstalling DupFinder made the phantom window go away. Another one solved. Thanks again.
