Hi. I'm trying out MC10 (installed on top of 9)...
I cleared my library and then tried to import files, and MC10 (149) crashed about 1/4 of the way through.
I installed the latest MC10 version (150) and have the same problem.
Don't know where it saves the error log, so can't provide you with more details yet, but here's the system info. Thanks.

it is prob crashing on a bad media file\tag
there are a few programs that will fix tags in mp3's Like (Helium 2, mp3 tester, mp3utility, etc....)
you can also move what has been imported and then try importing a few files at a time, until you find the file it crashes on.
if you find the file it crashes on J river may want to look at the media file.

Thanks. I'll try one of the utilities mentioned. It must be a recently added file then, because I updated the library a few weeks ago.
Would the error log tell me what file it crashed on, and if so, do you know where I'd find said log?

Try dividing your files and import in smaller batches until you find the problem file. We'd like to have a copy.

Hi Jim
May not have time to do that today, but can add this update....
Scanned all the files using MP3 Tester, and the only problem files were bitrate too high or too low (MC imported some of them no problem).
I just reopened MC and it is showing my old library as its library (depsite having cleared it and trying to import as described earlier).
Thoughts?
Hopefully I can do the upload in batches by the end of tomorrow.
Thanks.

Hello all.
Jim, I've gone through and (after clearing the library again) imported my music files in batches (by artist folder) and MC had no problems.
I can clear the library again and try to replicate the original crash, if that helps you?

That sounds like it could be hardware related.

Hmm... well, if I run into the problem again I will reopen this thread. Thanks for the help.

Right now I'm listening to 'Between Love and Hate' by 'The Strokes' from 'Room On Fire' on Media Center 10.0
