I am looking for help with a quirk I have found in MC 10. I am not sure if it is a bug in MC or the way it installed. It refuses to recognise my CDWriter, a MSI CDRW CR52 with the latest firmware.
All of my other apps have no problem, including other "jukeboxes" I have.
I see the drives under "drives and devices", but under tools / options I cannot get it to recognise my writer. It remains greyed out. I have tried by installing the latest available ASPI drivers from Adaptec. I have looked at registry entries without any visible error I can fix. If I try and play from my writer I get the following error on screen.
"Media Centre encountered errors while trying to play the last several files, Error: Unknown error, Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location".
Last resort is to uninstalll and re-install, but I want to see this as an absolute last resort.
Any takers
Regards

Hi Kingsparta
Looked at your link given. Is this for others to see the product before they respond or is there something for me to see on that site. I have already sent an email to technical support at MSI. I can also try the technical support link on this site.
By the way, great plug-ins on your site. I was having problems with the old ones giving me errors with the new version of MC. Downloaded the latest and now all is well. One issue, I cannot find an update for your "Artist BIOS Finder". Have you stopped this one or has it been updated into a renamed or new product. The version I have at the moment is still giving me errors.
:P :P :P

The BIOS finder has been retired...
It is no longer able to obtain the Bios info from the web as a certain site has changed.

yes
"Artist BIOS Finder"
No longer supported, maybe in the future, not sure.

Thanks to both replies, imjustagamer and Kingsparta.
Kingsparta
Will look forward to your new program should you decide to support it again.
