Hi,
A lot of other HTPC front ends look for the album art in the actual folder the album is stored. I would still like to use MC10 as my main media managment software, so is it possible to get the 'Album art from Internet' to put the image into the albums folder rather than one AlbumArt location? If not....could you please add it to verison 10?
Thanks
Vic

my plug-in "cover art finder" does that
it's free

Thanks Sparta,
I tried that yesterday, but have a few points/questions.
Do I need to tick the box that says to save image to folder.jpg?
When I did that, it did do it, but actually called it 'folder.jpg' ..is that right?
I added all my music to playing now but it then started finding albums covers for each track, not each album. This caused a problem with 'Various artists' albums.
What am I doing wrong.
Regards
Vic

King Sparta,
Hey, as long as we are making suggestions; Can we have the option to reject the found cover art? Sometimes it doesn't find the correct one but still updates all the tags, not giving me the option to say I don't want it.
I know this is dragging this off topic and might be better off in the Third Party Apps forum but I'm just following up on the previous post.

yes

Yes
It is the Microsoft standard

it looks at the artist name and the album name
you can change the config, but if "various artist" is in the artist name field that would be wrong. since i know no singer named "various artist"
if you use the correct artist name it may find the cover art

Sorry, I just asked a simple question. I don't understand the need for the sarcasm.

Both Amazon and Play do list Various Artists as the Artist.
So if I have "The Ultimate Northern Soul Album - Various Artists" and the first track is "Bob Brady & The Conchords - Everybody’s Going To The Love In", your software will look for "Bob Brady & The Conchords - The Ultimate Northan Soul Album".
I don't think that is working too well. Surely it should be looking for Various Artists as that is the Artist listed on Amazon. If I could set MC10 "Album Artist" field to Various Artists and then get your software to use that field instead it would work fine.
I know this is free software and apprciate the work you have done. I just want to make sure its working the way I think it is.
Cheers

Maybe it's the way you read it.

it works fine, and finds what the search returns
It however does not look for "Various Artists" and never will
-
I know you can configure the searches for each pass...
I think there is a way to have it search on album only...
If it finds 95% and you need to manualy search for a few then that's cool... Isn't it?

There Is
You Just Need To Check And UnCheck The Search Options.
But i still think (Not Sure) That It Will Not Search For Any File That Has "various artist" in the artist field.
the reason for this is the search will return many albums with "various artist" and it has nothing to do with the album you have.
as edbro said it would be nice to have a manual option to say yes or no but it was not programed that way. it is for batch only and if you don't like what it gave you you can always go back and delete it.

95% is cool.
