I'm looking to replace my older (not old) HP scanner on my 2.4gHz home built XP Pro machine.
My scanning is about a 50/50 mix of photos and page-related info. I'm willing to spend up to $350.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

This is an interesting thread in that I'm looking at doing the same thing. I've been looking at an All-In-One so I can have a color printer as well as my B\W laser printer. I have found one that I REALLY like, the HP PSC 2410:

Just remember, you're not in the search alone!

Pick your price range & feature set.

I currently have a fairly new HP 3570C scanner that does a good job but my next one will be an Epson.
Why ?
More features, better film scanning, higher bit rate, higher resolution, faster scanning, and a better sense of reliability.
Everything HP that I have bought & had for awhile has failed. Epson seems to be more committed to making realiable products that simply works great over a long time.
I bought an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer after my $1400.00 HP inkjet died. The Epson cost less then half as much but is five times the printer.
A friend of mine had similar high failure problems with HP printers / scanners & like me swears he will never buy another HP again.
Seems that HP has forgoten that reliability is what sells products in the long run & not so much new whiz-bang features.

That's a nice one :o
It is more upper level then many. I have looked at the same model myself for a future scanner.
Epson also has a better warranty then HP. My HP only has a 90 day warranty & Epson comes with a one year... much better. I am a little leary of companies that do not think enough of their products to provide a full year warranty. Maybe they are telling us that they think it will be a short lived product.
I think you will be very happy with your new Epson ;D
I LOVE my mew Epson 2200 printer ;D
I bought an Epson printer in the mid 80's & I just throw it away... It still worked ;D
