Title: updating encoder

Because there is a more up to date version of ogg vorbis available can anyone tell me step by step how to update the ogg vorbis encoder that was built into media centre.

You can't update the plug-in for MC.  If you have an external encoder that could be used.

Oh dear. I've been updating MC's lame and mpc version by overwriting the lame. exe and mppenc.exe with a newer one.

I think quite a few of us do it this way.  Jim - are you saying that we shouldn't be doing this?

Sorry.  Those are external encoders.  It's not a problem to do that, though it is possible that newer encoders may have newer problems.
