Title: CD Burning track start/stop timing error
Post by: Laffer on August 04, 2004, 05:03:20 am
Hi y'all,
Long time no speak!  I think I have found a bug that's quite surprising no one has found or mentioned before (I have done a search but found nothing).

When using the CD burn option, decode directly to CD, No crossfade, I always get this type of error all through the disc:

Time Line--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

<------- TRACK STARTS PLAYING ------->
< ------- TRACK NUMBER CHANGES TO WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN 2 SECS BEFORE TRACK START ------->

Essentially a track starts then between 1 and 4 seconds later the track number changes to what it should have done before the track started.

This has affected many versions of MC 10 upto .150 (I have not tried .155 yet.)  I have also tried this with different PC's and burners - always the same result.

Any ideas what is causing this?  Is there a workaround?  Will you be fixing this?

Cheers,

Laffer.

I've had this problem before - using the same burn settings as yourself.

In my case the problem seemed to be specific to the mp3 files I was burning - i.e. I only had this problem with specific files. 95% of burns were fine.

I posted about this at the time - even sent J River an affected file, as requested. Unfortunately I never heard any more about it - so we never got to the bottom of the problem. :(

Perhaps try burning the files with another app - what happens?

Every version of nero I have had (through the years.... erm.... very many) does this correctly.  Unlike you (sauzee) this happens no matter what tracks are selected for burning.

What I find strange is this is pretty base functionality - weird that it has never been fixed.  I'll try 'pre-decoding' if thats the expression.  Other than that I'll have to use Nero as it looks like this aint gonna be fixed.

I think we've got a fix for this problem. Please try the next build, 10.0.158 or 11.0.53.
Please let me know if this fixes it.

Thanks!

Same here....
I've had this problem at least with 2 MC10 versions in the past. Have also mentioned it in this forum but only got 1 reaction which didn't help.

Thanks for the fix!  I'll try it out asap....
This proves once more that with MC "you CAN always get what you want...."
