Title: Can't use other programs with MC as default
Post by: azdood on August 09, 2004, 10:16:50 pm
Since I made MC my default player I unable to burn CDs with another program I use from time to time.  When I go to drag down the CD file (which has a MC logo on it), it won't drag.  I want to keep MC as my default player/ burner/ etc., but would like to have access to other programs.  How can I make that happen?  Thanks.

It's not a general problem - I often do this.  I'm not sure what you mean by a "CD file" though, and what's the other program?

Thanks for your reply IanG.  I have Easy CD-DA Extractor.  Sorry about my terminology - I'm not too saavy with the computer lingo yet.

By CD file I mean that in order to burn something with this program I have to open My Music file and then select the album folder I wish to burn, then drag that folder into the CD information window.  When I try to drag the folder the information is no longer left or transfered to the information window.

I noticed that all my CD folders within My Music now have the MC logo on them and figured that happened when I made MC my default player/burner/etc.  And I also figured that that was the reason I couldn't transfer them to the information window within Easy CD-DA Extractor, thus making it impossible to burn them.

I hope this clarifies my problem.

Ijust tried loading both files and folders into easy CD-DA burner with no problems either way. MC is also my default media player. You've got me stumpted.

Thanks Jay.  Guess I'll post it on the Easy CD forum.
