Title: is it possible to play files in archives ?

With foobar for example you can play files directly within an archive file (.rar, .zip...). Is it possible with mediacenter ? Is a plugin necessary ?

No.  It isn't possible with MC.  Zipping files has little value since they are already compressed and can't normally be further compressed.
