Title: User Quota Exceeded
Post by: ugh on October 03, 2003, 08:55:56 am
Upon registering for cddb I get this error:
10/03/2003:16:00:30:GMT [35200] XP: Please contact Media Jukebox J River support [Gracenote Error 110/12 : User Quota Exceeded]

How do I get rid of the error and how can I get back to ripping my CDs again?

Upgrade To The Current Version Of MJ8 Or MC9

Then Use The CD Info From The YADB

MJ And MC9 have not used CDDB for about a year.

I haven't ripped for a while, but after losing my archive I need to re-rip my cd collection again. What about my account with cddb? I would like to use cddb again. How can I get this functionality back? It was one of the main reasons for me to buy the software.
If I read those statistics right, YADB has not half the CDs in the DB than has CDDB, and it even has less than the freedb.
So the main question for me now is: How do I get the CDDB functionality back?

The CDDB site is able to tell what program initiated the lookup request. JRiver (and it's apps) are not licensed to use the database anymore, so no matter what build of MJ you have (latest v8 builds don't even have a CDDB option), you still will not be able to use it. Give YADB a chance.

my wife works At toys R Us and somtimes a customer will ask her for something. she may tell them they do not have any or they are all sold out.

then the customer will ask for the item again in another way.

no matter how many times the question is asked or re-worded the answer is the same.

Well, the solution to the problem is clear: re-licence MJ for cddb ;)
And still, why did JRiver set up yet another db if there are 2 good ones out there? This makes no sense to me.  ;(

And for the Toys R Us customers: if I go into a shop asking for something and they tell me they don't have it, they either order it and I come back in later or I go to another shop and buy the things there. simple problems do not really need complex solutions.

CDDB is over.  Please try a search here to read more about it.
