Title: Secure Ripping
Post by: MarkGrigsby on August 11, 2004, 05:47:05 am
I am beginning to rip my collection of CDs, and was thinking of buying a newer drive with the 'best' DAE quality.  However, I am not sure if this is needed....

Maybe I misunderstand, but from what I read, if I rip in 'Secure' mode, then MC will automatically check the quality of the rip, and let me know if there are any parts of the disc which are not perfect.  Hence, I would only need to consider a new drive if I keep getting rips with errors reported.

Does this make sense?  All advice much appreciated!

Cheers,
Mark

Pretty much correct...

If it does notice a flaw it will try and rescan that part till it gets it right... I'm not sure on how many times it rescans.

I have only noticed discs that are damaged that havn't ripped at 100%
