I enjoy MC 10 so much I just purchased a new sound card and speakers for my computer room. Now I spend alot more time listening to music and reading in my computer room.
One floor down is my very expensive home theater system and a very comfortable couch.
Now I am waiting for a wireless solution that works with MC to get the music to my home theater system. I hate music match and refuse to buy the current solutions.
Is HTPC my only option? Will MC11 support a solution?

Not yet. I'm looking at it. An alternative is to run a PC next to the home stereo.

I stream music wirelessly to my Tivo using MC10. I know it's not ideal for those who don't have Tivo, but they *are* cheaper than dirt now.
I've been streaming to my Tivo for over a year using MC and it's great.

How about some details....
I assume that your tivo has a wireless card (b or g?)
Your tivo then outputs the audio to a stereo? What is the sound quality like?
Does it matter what you stream as far as different files types and sound quality are concerned?
Is it all done with the tivo home media option? Or do you need to do something else on your pc?
Thanks.

Wouldn't this work?

The Linksys Media Adapter and the Netgear MP101 http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=234 (http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=234) (which is what I've got) are very similar in that they require a dedicated server application to run on the PC where the music resides. The Netgear is quite cool in that it's UPnP compliant so you don't have to use Netgear's own software - the TwonkyVision server seems pretty good http://www.twonkyvision.de/UPnP/index.html (http://www.twonkyvision.de/UPnP/index.html)
There's a WinAmp plug-in version but I haven't tried it yet.
What would be perfect is if the JRiver Media Server was also UPnP ready. Then you could run one instance of Media Server and as many wireless devices as you wanted - PCs or Netgears - all connecting back to the same single source.

Last I heard on this, UPnP was far from being a standard. Maybe that's changed but that's how it was. :)

i stream to my Tivo as well. My media center PC is on the network and running Media Server. Tivo has a wireless card which it uses for getting program info as well. You must have the Tivo Home Media Option for this to work. Its a pretty smooth solution.
Plus Tivo is awesome!
