Title: I want to buy
Post by: mike7ts on August 14, 2004, 01:43:49 pm
 :(
Hi
I have downloaded and am thrilled with Media Centre..... but when I click the purchase button in Help ... I get 'Could Not Open' sign come up in 'Secure IE' ... I'm not a technical person but have tried everything I know to get round the problem ... I had no problems purchasing Media Juke Box...

Is there another link which will enable me to pay my money...
Thanks ..

Mike

It could be your security settings in your browser.

What version of MC are you running?  You can copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

It's almost certainly a setting on your PC.  Firewalls can block https access (port 443).  Your browser security may also be the problem.  Check your settings for both.

Could be your router, too.  I had mucho bizarre problems with a D-Link DI-804HV router.  It was blocking, among other things, HTTPS pages.  Tried everything, but never worked it out - switching the router for a Zywall 2WE fixed everything.

Not really, the URL is complex.

The problem affecting purchase may also affect other things as well, so it's worth a bit to track it down.

Thanks guys for all your help .... I dissabled my SecureIE... and just used Internet Explorer and all worked well ..I am now a legal owner of Media Centre ....

I'm about to buy a Rio Karma so I guess I'll be back for more help ..

I love the Media Centre and the Juke Box before it ... and you create a great sense of community on these boards ..

Thanks again
