anyone have any ideas? it takes upwards of 30minutes to sevral hours to get to the point where i can look at the CD in media jukebox.

If the lookup is the problem, then it's probably a network configuration issue or a firewall, etc.
If it's ripping, it could be a drive problem. Try a search on PIO here and at google.
What you're seeing is not normal.

the drive is using DMA 2.
firewall is not the issue, it works fine on other machines on the network. its just the cd lookup that has a problem
the few fixes that were mentioned were fixes in xp SP2. ( i have sp2 installed.) ( i did have media jukebox 10 installed briefly) (if i remember right, thats when the probelm started occuring)
i have tired reinstalling mj8 sevral times and it still doesnt help.
