I have looked for the setting in help and I have not found it. can someone help me please. I am a pro dj and I use this system for my work. this is a very important issue for me

I am guessing that you usually rip cds to mp3? at 128bit. It is possible that MC has changed to ripping into wav which would be why the bitrate is showing up as 1440 and why the files are large.
goto tools...options...encoding
check that the drop down menu at the top says encoding for cd ripping then make sure that encoding type and quality is set to mp3.
