Title: Newbie with ?simple? question

I just started using MJ...my problem seems like it would be easy to rectify, but I can't find any info on how to do it.  I ripped a bunch of complilation CD's where the artist came up as "various artists" for each song.  I went under CD media and changed all of them to the correct artist.  However, the change is not reflected under either the album or the artist/album folders.  What gives?  Also, I have one CD's name that comes up "Compact Disc".  When I change it, the song list disappers.  If I exit MJ and come back, the CD is again called "Compact Disc".  What am I doing wrong?

What MJ shows in its listing is not the file names, theyre 2 separate things. Confuses me occasionally.
