Title: CD-Text Problem
Post by: BCPalmer on October 31, 2002, 06:55:15 pm
Hey All again,
Happy Halloween!!! ;D

OK.  I think I found a problem with CD-TEXT.  I created a CD today full of Halloween sounds to play on my standard CD player (Sony 300 disc player that supports CD-TEXT).  Before burning the CD, I selected Edit CD-TEXT from the Options button.  I set the Artist = Various and set Title = The Sounds of Halloween.  My CD changer displayed the title as The Sounds of Halloween - Various.  When I select Artist on my display it came up with (No Text).  The CD was not playing at the time and therefore should have displayed Various for the Artist and the CD title should only display The Sounds of Halloween.  Am I missing something?

Yeah...It's broken.   I see the same in V9.

This is the way cd-text has always worked in MJ, since it's been limited to how the internal Goldenhawk library does it.
The CD title is burned as "Title - Artist". There is no way to burn a separate "artist" field.
Version 9 (now in beta testing) has our new generic burning library which does burn a separate cd title and artist field.

JohnT,
Thanks for the reply.  I just downloaded MJ9 yesterday and will be playing around with it.
