Title: OT: FTP Software

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was an ftp software that would automatically check every x minutes for new files and prompt me with a sound or an action if a new file is found.

Anyone knows?

SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com) is one the best free ftp clients out there.  I use it and CuteFTP Pro, but I have to pay for CuteFTP.  :)

Anyway, I don't have it installed at the moment (I'm on a new system), but both support scheduled transfers.  I haven't ever messed with that feature, but since the primary purpose of scheduled transfers is to do system synchronizations and backups, I imagine they would do what you want.  <shrug>  Worth checking out anyway, at least the free one. ;)

With SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com), I know you can customize the sounds, but I'm not sure if you can do it on the level you are looking for.

Actually, never mind.  I doubt either will simply just "check for updates" like you want. :(
