Title: Missing possibility to save view schemes
Post by: ChrisRainman on September 12, 2004, 05:55:29 am
I now started to try out MC V11 and I am wondering it still does not support to save view schemes like for views.

I organized my library in a way that it contains several view scheme trees like

Lev 1: Albums
Lev 2: Favorite albums, Single artist Albums, New albums
Lev 3: New Albums - imp. last 3 mths, imp. last 2 weeks,
...

For each view scheme I defined filter fields (view items) like Album, Year, Album rate, ...

For each view scheme I again have to define fields, group criterias etc.

Why is it not possible like for views (customize current view... - preset) to save a view scheme and reassign it to others?

A second old issue is the date formatting. For fields like date created it would be great if I had a grouping option to avoid getting listed every single track (same for field last played, date imported, etc.)

Please, do something about this!

Next build of MC 11 will support Ctrl+Drag of view schemes to create copies.

Copy / Paste using the clipboard will be there in a coming build as well.

Thanks a lot for your positive answer :)!

Could you also tell if there are plans to allow grouping of date fields? I'm pretty sure this feature would be appreciated by lots of users!

Yes , I'd find a date grouping ability really useful too.
