Title: Copied Media Items Imported Into the Library

If we process images but want to save a copy, is there a way to choose if the copy (to remain either the virgin or to be modified) gets automatically imported into the library?  When I change an image (corrections like red-eye or contrast), I like to rename the original "xxxOriginal" and it doesn't bother me that it is left out of the library.  But when I change resolution, I like to keep both the original and the resized in the library.

Is there a way to do this now?  If not, might this be added as a feature?
