Title: Preparing for V11?
Post by: milknkukis on September 20, 2004, 05:30:08 am
I'm keen to have a play with the zone syncing in V11, but i would like to make sure i can go back to 10 if i need to (I have finally got everything working as i want it).
I have heard people talking about backing up their databases before upgrading, how do i do this and is it necessary? Is there anything else i should do?
cheers all

It's only necessary if you don't want to have to start all over if you decide to go back to MC10.

It's really easy and there's really no reason NOT to do it. From inside MC, go to File -> Library -> Backup Library...

Then just choose a location to save the backup in. That's it.

MC11 and MC10 also can co-exist on the same PC, so you could probably just install both. I don't do this, though, so I can't say if there are any special precautions you need to take.

You can have them both installed at once.  Just be sure to install MC 11 to a different folder than MC 10.

Also, make sure you have the latest of each.
