Excuse this old man for being so dense, but I cannot for the life of me find out how to upgrade from Version 9 to 11. Now that I've been using 11 alpha, I find it very stable and usable, but have only 8 more days on the trial.
The usual links take me variously to a page for buying Version 11 for 35 dollars, or for upgrading to Ver. 9 (which I already have). Where is the page for upgrading at the special alpha price?

You should be able to goto Help, in MC
Then Buy MC
If this doesn't work, reinstall 9, restore the licence then install 11.

As I wrote initially, Help | Buy Media Center is for purchasing anew at 35 dollars.
Ver. 9 is already installed and the license is valid.

I don't think you can upgrade from 9 to 11
(I could be wrong)
I do think you can upgrade from 9 to 10 then from 10 to 11

You can upgrade from MC9 or MJ8. Prices are in the first post here:

I've read that, but my question is, HOW?

Install MC9, make sure it is licensed correctly. Then install MC11 and purchase from the MC Help menu.

OK, I did exactly that. Purchase from the Help menu still takes me to a page for brand new purchase at 35 bucks. According to the Registration screen Ver. 9 is properly registered to me.
I have only one more week on the trial. Please fix this soon.

Can you copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here?

For Version 11:

Version 9, meanwhile, won't boot properly now that I've installed Version 11. They are in separate folders. If necessary I'll reinstall 9 yet again, but isn't this a lot of loops to jump through just to upgrade?

I think he may have been looking for your ver. 9 info, to make sure there wasn't anything in their keeping you from upgrading. The other thing is that you used to not have multiple versions on your machine, unless that changed, so if you have ver.9 in on location it probably won't run if ver11 is installed in another location. I have not looked into that lately, but that use to be a common practice for JRiver.

Next I'll try intalling Ver. 11 over Ver. 9 and see if I can upgrade.

I just did that, but still get this page when I try to upgrade:
https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=23
with this information:
Media Center 11
JRiver, Inc.
$35.00
So what gives??

I wonder if you have one of the very early MC9 licenses that we had to replace. We sent an e-mail to do this, but there were a few people who didn't respond. That's the only possibility I can imagine.
Here's something you can try. Just purchase the full MC11 license. If that works, let me know by e-mail (with a link to this thread) and we'll credit your card for the difference.
I'm sorry you've had all the trouble. It would be nice to be sure what it was.
