Title: Installation request
Post by: JustinChase on September 24, 2004, 12:18:40 am
Would it be possible to make the installer optionally automatic?  I trust you guys.  I want to select an option in MC that says I always agree to your terms, and I don't want to see the installer again.  Just install it the same way I did last time (Not on my desktop!), and run when finished.

I would download more builds if it was this easy.  As it is I only download when something sounds cool or interesting.  Also, sometimes I just space or hit the wrong thing, and I have to fix it.  I'm really lazy.

Thanks

Theres a checkbox on the first (or maybe second) page of the install wizard that says, "Install automatically after 30 seconds next time.". You may be annoyed by the 30 second wait, and I"m not sure what settings it will use for future automatic installs...

It uses the default settings (not what I pick).

And a 30 second wait is pretty useless to me.

Fingers still crossed... :)

I would like to see this also. But I can't see it being implemented as the casual user would find it a useless feature.

Rich

pretty please though  ;)

Yes but, we've got what....1000+ people who try to keep up with the dailies.  There's a lot of benefit to 1000+ people 4 times a week.  And i would guess, not a whole lot of work to do it.

The auto-install is probably as good as it'll get.  It uses the same options you've used in the past. (just like clicking 'Next' on express mode)

Almost - except that it always insists on putting an Icon on the Desktop even though I always deselect that.
