Please check this FAQ:
www.mediajukebox.com/license
Note that Install Keys are good for 2 weeks. Then you need to use a restore.

I downloaded today and purchased today???

I'm sorry if I'm thick as wood but I can't understand what to do if my reg code is not accepted....that is(I suppose) what the prog looks for in the reg process or? Arn't I supposed to click on the reg.code link that is sent to me and then the prog are ment to do the job or?

I am ...and now I have tried on my laptop too but it doesn't register there either...
I don't know what to do...I have only 5 restores left but it seems as the upgrade was useless.... :-[

Don't worry about restores. I've reset them.
Are you running any special security software on the PC's?
Yes, you can click on the Install Key you receive, but it should automatically install when you go to the Restore Page and enter your Registration Code.
What version of MJ are you running? Copy your system info from MJ Help and paste it here.

i am having the same problem restoring my liscence. I bought MJ in September, (for the 2nd time in two or three years, because I ran out of restores on my first liscence?) and recently installed a new hard drive and reinstalled MJ 8.0.4. The restore page does not recognize my liscence, (no matter how I enter it. IE capital letters or not, dashes or not?) I saved the first MJ key that was sent to me on floppy and tried to install from that, (even though it was more that two weeks old) and I still get the same error message as you "error installing MJ file, unable to open file". I had a simmilar problem with my last liscened program and found a fix on in this forum. I forget who suggested it, but they said to delete your temporary internet files from "internet tools". Restart the pc and try to restore. So far this has not worked for me......is there something else that can be done....

HI! I should try to pay closer attention to what I am doing. I had my registation number emailed to me again, and I took a closer look at it, and discovered I had written a "1" instead of an "I", and problem solved...I re-entered the correct registration number, and it automatically did the rest for me....I also right clicked on the registration number and saved it to a file... for later use if necessary, within the two week time period.
