I often use media server at my office to stream music from my house. It works wonderfully. I do have one problem with it however.
As I collect more lossless files, and record at higher bitrates, more of my music becomes unusable this way because of bandwidth limitations. Would it be possible to configure media server to convert on the fly to a specific bitrate? I see it done now for TiVo, and the handheld plugin does this as well. Ideally, this would be done by the requesting client (My home network has no bandwidth issues, I'd want to play at source bit depth).
Is this possible? Reasonable?
