I was asked to start a new thread.
MC seem to use quite a bit of my system resources. This have heppend in recent build. MC use upto 75-80% (stablize around 65-70%) of my system resources when minimized and upto 85% or whatever is left for it to use and stabalize around 75%. I do not run any significant 3rd party plugins -- only Sparta's Coverart finder and Lyric Finder plus Audioscrobbler. I dosen't matter if AS is turned on or off. This us using the normal navigation (panes) and playing mp3 files encoded with LAME (whatever version is used in the recent builds.) I'm using ASIO and have always worked just fine without ever peaking this high. When MC isn't playing music it uses around 3-5%, maximished.
CD burning is another issue. I took up all of my system resources for writing a music CD.
I think this've happend after build 87.
Thanks,
Rasmus

Disable any DSPs.
Also try uninstalling the extra plugins.
MC should only take a few % to play on your machine.
-
Only DSPs which are on are replay gain and output.
Only Sparta's plugins are enabled.
With Direct Sound/Wave Out MC's still taking it (way to big) piece of the pie.
I haven't installed anything new recently.
-
Again, please try uninstalling and disabling extra stuff like plugins and DSP.
Resampling changed, so make sure that isn't running as well.
Thanks.

Here when minimized and playing MC is using about 5% resources and about 8MB RAM. I too have spartas plugins installed... something is worng d00d :)

Check whether your DMA is turn off for your harddisk. This happens to me before and the culprit was the fact that Windows has turn off my DMA for me.
You can check this by right clicking my computer, properties, hardware, device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, double click on Primary and check the advanced settings.
Make sure your drive is running on DMA.

Matt,
I got it. It's the resampling. When it's turned on Mc uses a lot. When I turn it off and use Direct Sound MC only uses about 15% maximished and around 7% minimized.
Can this be fixed?
Thanks a bunch,
Rasmus

MC now has very high quality resampling.
It'll take more CPU. If your machine isn't up to it, let the soundcard resample.
-
I need to resample to use ASIO, which I'd prefer. It seems rediciuels that my computer shouldn't be able to resample...
BTW: I get an error and close down when trying to play back a track via ASIO with no resampling.

Here's a similar problem:

I notice v11 to run much slower, like clicking between Media Library and Playing Now, the screen draws much slower.
