Title: Can the visualization/small video window be permanently shown??
Post by: turndog7 on October 02, 2004, 01:49:58 pm
I have looked through the forum and haven't found for sure whether or not you can do this: can you somehow keep the playing now view up permanently, meaning start a video where the video/visualization/ etc. is playing up the right hand corner, and then be able to browse anywhere else, click on other folders/media and keep the video screen there? Like make it a permanent view so when I click on a genre of audio it doesn't go back to a whole screen panel view of my songs, or another view, but keep that visualization window up permanently. Thanks for any info (I have read the CTRL+SHFT+click threads, but that doesn't keep it up there constantly, unless Im doing something wrong, that simply does that same thing as clicking on Playing Now) oh, using MC10 currently, if that makes a difference

you would need v11 to do the split views.

Sorry if I havent understood this properly, but in MC10 (and 11 presumably) you can right click on the visualisation/video part of playing now, choose Configure Display/ Windowed mode Always On Top, then set it to windowed view. You then have a window that shows the current visualisation/video/image/etc. Its the 'Media Center Display' window only that can be undocked (in both versions AFAIK). You cant see the queued up playing now list in this window though. Bring up MC and you can get this on screen as well. Its Saturday night and Im sinking into some beers here, but does this help?

If you set MC Display to windowed mode you can get something like this:
