I've tried searching the forum to see if anyone else is having a similar problem to no avail. Basically I have about 7000 MP3s but have recently been given iTunes vouchers and now have around 250 AACs which MC is playing fine on the default zone (my PC Speakers).
My second Zone is a USB connected MD Port that then connects to my A/V system via Toslink.
MP3s play fine to this second zone - but AACs only seem to play through the default zone (even when MC is set to the 2nd Zone). Is this a limitation of the underlying Quicktime engine that MC is using?
thanks, Paul.
I'm on MC 10.0.173 and Quicktime 6.5.1

sorry to bump this back to the top - has anyone else experienced problems playing .aac files through other zones in MC?

Only files played with MC's internal audio engine can be output to different zones. This includes mp3, wma, ape, ogg, wav, and several others.
AAC, Real Audio formats, and a few others can't utilitze MC's audio engine. Maybe we could lobby Apple to make an AAC plugin for MC ;)

bah! that's what I suspected... :(
Good luck with your lobbying of Apple ;)

I'm assuming that this url can not be played through zones
mms://ccdig.liquidviewer.com/KPOJ
Media Center seems to think its a video file.
