I'm using MC11.0.93 on WinXP SP2 with WMP10 installed.
I can no longer rip to WMA Lossless. When I click on the "Rip" button in the Rip CD action window, the window updates to "Initializing for rip..." and then a moment later switches to "Complete" though no files have been ripped. I can rip to all other WMA formats successfully. I have several CD and DVD drives on this computer and trying to rip from any of the drives exhibits the same behaviour.
I have a second computer with a similar config and I can success rip to WMA Lossless on the second computer.
What else can I check or look for to debug this problem?

Try swapping 'lossless.xml' and 'lossless_old.xml' in the MC\Plugins\WMAProfiles directory.
Let us know what you find.

Before I read your message, I had upgraded to 11.0.95. Build 95 exhibits the same behaviour as build 93.
But as you've suggested, replacing lossless.xml with lossless_old.xml now allows me to rip to WMA Lossless (now using build 95).
What is the difference in the 2 profiles?

Could you let us know the exact version of the wmvcore.dll file in your system directory for the machine this wasn't working for?
Currently, we pick different profiles based on if the wmvcore.dll version is below 10 or not. (WM 10 didn't remain backwards compatible with older lossless profiles)

Hmm...I've done a full search of my hard drive and come up with the following versions:
10.0.0.3473 \WINDOWS\system32
10.0.0.3473 \WINDOWS\RegisteredPackages\{AAC1D942-0B38-4E37-9E4E-5B96A9DD2170}
9.0.0.3250 \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
10.0.0.3473 \WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
7.0.0.1917 \Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Album 2.0\Apps
9.0.0.2980 \WINDOWS\RegisteredPackages\{AAC1D942-0B38-4E37-9E4E-5B96A9DD2170}$BACKUP$\System

Thanks a bunch.
Can anyone else with this problem give the version of the wmvcore.dll file in their system directory?

I haven't installed WMP10 yet, but the official September installation package I have includes this version of wmvcore.dll: 10.0.0.3646. The file is dated August 11.
Maybe that 10.0.0.3473 is from the earlier public beta.

Sorry guys, I hadn't realised that I still had the public beta of WMP 10 on my computer. I also had Windows Media 9 Series Encoder (an encoder utility separate from WMP9) on my system.
I've upgraded to the final release of WMP10 and removed the Windows Media 9 Series Encoder.
I also swapped the lossless.xml files back to the way they were when MC wasn't working. Not surprisingly MC now rips WMA lossless without a problem.
After the upgrade to WMP10 and the removal of WM 9 Encoder, now I have the following WMVCORE.DLL files:
10.0.0.3646 \WINDOWS\system32
10.0.0.3646 \WINDOWS\RegisteredPackages\{AAC1D942-0B38-4E37-9E4E-5B96A9DD2170}
9.0.0.3250 \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
10.0.0.3646 \WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
9.0.0.3250 \WINDOWS\RegisteredPackages\{AAC1D942-0B38-4E37-9E4E-5B96A9DD2170}$BACKUP$\System
7.0.0.1917 \Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Album 2.0\Apps
