11.0.95 (10/05/04)
14. NEW: Added "Split View" controls to View menu. (ctrl+shift+click keyboard easter-egg removed)
How do we select the view to show on the bottom split?
By the way, the "Playing now" view is itself a "splited view"... I think it would be nice to divide "Playing Now list" and "Playing Now Visualization" in to different views...
I think it would be useful to include a status bar in each splited view telling the selected view (in that split). This status could be a dropdown menu, to select the view to display...
The tree only would affect the "main split"...
By the way, I think the tree should be eliminated some day, and replace it by toolbar buttons or something...

Ups... Ok... I didn't realize about the control view items...
i think it is a very powerful and useful feature... But I think it is not easy to use for a standard user...
I think some work have to be done to improve usebility of this feature... I am not criticazing, but encouraging the team to keep the great work...

I would have to agree and disagree with you on that one.

Having the visualization window become a seperate window that I can view no matter what I'm doing in MC is a GREAT IDEA!!! (especially if it will work with aac files ;))
Using the tabbed structure the library view uses would be a better use of real estate and more asthetically pleasing, IMO, than the tree structure. Maybe having a new tab slightly offset from its' 'parent' tab, so you can see it's x layers down, but unable to read any of the tabs it mostly covers. That way it only takes up one 'row' of real estate. As you select the tab, it brings up a 'drowdown list' of tabs, and as you select to drill down, it covers what's above it (as I described) and brings up a new 'dropdown list' if appropriate. Anytime you click a tab, it gives a top line option of going up one/all layers (and down if they exist).
Just an idea.

On my today's vision, MC has tabs:
Start/PN/Visualization/Library/Playlists/Devices
When clicking a tab, a second level appears in some place (maybe a combo), allowing you to select between schemes, individual playlists, or devices...
The tree would be a way to look a individual scheme. Actually, I think of three compatible (but independent) ways to browse each scheme
Tree/Panes/Library Browser
This set (tabs, combos, and the actual view) could be called "split". And multiple splits could be showed in the MC instance... That way, it could be easy to select the content on any split.

This must be obvious, but I'm not getting it.
How do you choose the content of "Control View 1" and "Control View 2"?
-
Select Control View 2 in the view drop down.
Then on the tree, click, Audio or wereever.

I knew it was obvious!! I was clicking on the tree but hadn't first selected View 2. Thanks for the fast response.
