Title: "Download New Version" Doesn't Work
Post by: Johnas33 on October 08, 2004, 10:27:35 pm
I have 9.0.120.  When I click Help - Check for Updates, it says version 9.1.317 is available.  When I click Download, nothing happens.  Please don't tell me that just because ver. 10 is out, I can't upgrade my paid-for ver. 9 to the latest ver. 9 which has already been developed.  That just wouldn't be right.

Its awhile since I used 9 but is there a check box next to the version number in the update  that you need to check off first?

Sorry if this is inaccurate or obvious but I remember missing it a lot! :)

Automatic updates work only with the current version (MC10). You can find the latest MC 9.1 in the FAQ thread: WELCOME - **** FAQ **** - INSTRUCTIONS (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=10029).

Thank you all.  I guess automatic updates were turned off for whatever reason, but the latest version was in the FAQ.  Media Center is the best, but I wish JRiver would make things more logical on the web site.  Media Center should have the largest market share, but they seem to do everything a little different, and get some bad reviews because of it (e.g., no phone or email support, no manual).  I want them to have greater market share because I want them to be around for the long haul.  I would consider upgrading to ver. 10, but I haven't seen anything to convince me that I need or want anything it has beyond what ver. 9 has.  Plus, I don't want to risk introducing any new bugs.
