Title: drive record speed

When I try to burn a cd, I get this message"can't set drive record speed"  how do i fix it??

it may depend.

you did not list your system info or burner info

if you have a newer computer and drive MJ8 might not work correctly with all newer drives since the burner driver in it is a few years old (or so). i think there was one update to it maybe right as they started Media Center 9.

also there has been many improvements to the burner driver since then.

Media Center 11 has a newer burner driver, that should work better
