Title: sound skips on asio and direct but not waveout

when im listening to music with waveout the sound is fine but when using but asio and directsound playback skips on processor intensive tasks like defragging and virus checking. Any ideas on why this would be or how to fix it? I'm using KX drivers on a creative audigy 2 platinum ex

Try increasing the buffer size for the drivers. Use the ASIO control panel for your driver if the KX drivers  provide one. It might be possible to change it from MC if recent versions of MC have a way to access the ASIO control panel (mine doesn't).

If this doesn't work, you might need to increasing the number of buffers as well. 2 is enough for most of the ASIO cards I have tried.
