I don't find the new album cover icons usefull for music tracks.
When I go to an Artist folder I see this:

Some of the items are album cover scans and some are music tracks. "Alright" doesn't have cover art associated and it is instantly distinguishable.
An option for the old style icons is needed, please.

I also do not like the icons of cover art in the list of songs.
-
I like it :)
-
Yup, like them too.
-
I like it :)
That is why I asked for an option.
Personally I find them colorful, but not informative. It's not possible to see the cover art, just the overall color.
I am used to see instantly which files are audio and which are images. I have several album art images for many of my albums and they are all stored in the artist\album folders and imported to the library.

This view is from MC10:

Can you see what I mean? Processing of those icons must also add some CPU usage. My images are not exactly small.

I like the icon view, and it would be nice for files without coverart to show NoThumb.png thumbnail instead note icon. I think it would look better.
-
i love the new icon system (especially to help me tag) but i agree , and option would be best for both sides

While I thing that the icons are pretty for some things, an option for turning the off is required. There are situations that I really need to have the old style icons - particularly when looking for files that are "missing from the database". If those files had an image associated with them, one cannot distinguish as to whether they are there or not. Similarly one cannot see that files are present in the explorer section but not imported into the database.
-
You get no icons at all if the imported file is a cue sheet. Cover art shows up in playing now, but not in the file list.
-
I think the option(s) should also include the option to display both at the same time, so we can have the old icons AND the mini cover art in the same (or different) columns.
-
The icons could be in a separate column with display and field options. Now they just are.
