I think the lyrics finder plug in is great but it's now becoming less and less useful to me because I usually buy new releases and there rarely any lyrics found for these. I tend to buy four or five albums at once so manually copying and pasting lyrics from other sites takes way too long. I wish there was a plug in that would search these sites and automatically tag the files. Does anyone know if any of the popular tagging programs can do this?

Congrats! That's nice :D

I came across the same thing yesterday with a brand new CD that came out. I didn't expect to find it on your lyrics site so I cut and pasted the lyrics in to my ripped MP3's. Now, I was hoping to find a way to export them to your lyrics site so the next person wouldn't have to do it but couldn't find a way. Is there?

thats why the program was made.
all you need to do is put all of your files into playing now, then auto batch scan them with the plug-in and it will send any Lyrics you have that the site does not have, and also get any you done have.
some people do not put in all there files and only files they have that does not have lyrics, this does not help anyone out but there self.
it would be nice if everyone would scan there entire Media Library (32767 or so at a time, there is a limitation to the Listbox for that many files).

That's why I'd like to know if there is another plug in or external tagging program that will go get 'em from other sites. I'd be more than happy to run lyrics finder afterwards if I managed to find anything. dcwebman doesn't mind pasting them in manually but for me this is just too big a job with 5 CD's at a time.

There Was One I Had That Did That And It Went To 10 Sites.
But Since I Went To 30 Sites And Downloaded What They Had I Did Not See A Need After That.
Most Sites Lie On How Many They Have One Said They Had 160,000 but Only Had About 75,000. Most have less than what they say, and most have less than 40,000.

I did what you said and after running, I have no lyrics now for those songs I manually entered. Now I may have done something else yesterday that lost them but I'll enter them once again and see if the submit works.
Jeff
P.S. Unfortunately your redesign of the website does not help the novice user that doesn't know about your great plug-ins on what they are and what they do because it's just a list of zip files now.
-
Okay, I entered the lyrics again, ran Lyrics Finder (.28) and at least on the Program Setup tab it didn't say any lyrics were submitted. So we'll see. In case you want to look, they were for Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The Lost Christmas Eve.
The good thing is the lyrics are still in the files so it wasn't Lyrics Finder that deleted them before.

Well done King :)

Congrats, and thanks!

sometimes there are reasons lyrics are not submited, one of them is if the fields "artist" and "Name" Are Not Filled Out Correctly (Left Blank Is Bad)
There Are Other Reasons, Like Bad ISP IP Numbers Sent To The FTP Server. Like Maybe A User Is Using A Proxy. In this Case You Can Get Lyrics But Not Send.

Like Maybe A User Is Using A Proxy. In this Case You Can Get Lyrics But Not Send.
That's what occurred in this case as I was going through a proxy.
Now that brings up a question that I was going to start a new topic and maybe I should do that, but since it's related, I'll ask it here. I filled in all those lyrics, 4 CD's worth, at work and didn't want to do the same thing at home. So I copied the updated MP3 files thinking the lyrics might be in there and discovered when I got home they weren't. I assume then that they're in the database and I have different databases/libraries between work and home.
Now the question is, since I can't do a simple backup/restore of the library to get the lyrics home and I can't get them from Lyrics Finder at home since they didn't upload from work, how do I get the lyrics at home without having to do it all manually again?
Thanks,
Jeff

The Lyrics Should Be Saved To The File, You Would Need To Use The Option Update Fields From File, Or Delete The File From The Library, Replace The File, And Re-Import
here is a sample on what happens at the server level, and a IP Address Is Rejected so it never gets uploaded to the server.

Although I had searched your website for lyrics a few times, it was only last week that I installed and began to use the lyrics finder plug-in. Just wanted to say thank you for your work on that tool and for sharing it with us, King :)
I have a small question. Every time I launch the plug-in, my McAfee antivirus pops-up with a warning of a potentially dangerous script and asks me to confirm. I hit the option "run the script this time" and haven't noticed any problem so far. I assume there is nothing to worry about, but just wanted to let you know this issue and have your confirmation that everything is OK.
Thanks again, King.

Thanks, I figured I could delete and re-import but didn't want to go through that figuring there had to be another way, just in case the lyrics are stored in the database. I'll try the update tonight.
