Title: Problem with new iPod & MC10
Post by: Bob W on October 19, 2004, 08:44:58 pm
I have MC10 with 4000 songs and have just gotten the latest iPod with 20 gig.  I have no other relevant software on my computer other than MC10.  I have renamed the iPod drive to IPOD as instructed.  I then went to initialize or format it for MC but that option does not appear on the menu when I right-click the drive in MC10.  I have tried a synch anyway and it appears to work for a handful of songs and then the computer hangs and the iPod just gives an error message when turned on.  I assume the problem is that I have never ititialized it for use with MC10, but I cannot find anywhere to do that.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

Bob,

Check that when you view your iPod from Windows Explorer that you see a folder called 'iPod_Control'. After you format your iPod and disconnect and reconnect it, this folder should exist and if it is there, MC should recognize your iPod as an iPod and then you can initialize etc.
