I hope that one of the all knowing and omnipotent beings with unlimited powers involved in MC11 will
tell me,.... Are you guys going to bring back the small thumbnails in the list style display that we saw for a brief time? I couldn't help but notice the results of that
poll. :-\
Question: Should they come back....
As they were? 2 (6%)
As an easily available option? 24 (75%)
Not at all? 6 (18%)
Total Votes: 32

option would be good.
-
I would also like to see them back as an option.
-
Too many options are bad!
I think they should be improved and reintroduced, NOT as an option. :)

-
i agree, i would really really love them back :)

I also would like to see them as a permanent fixture as theres no better way to see at a glance which files do or don't have cover art. :)

Sounds like the usual "explaination" here in China.
-
For what it's worth, I found the little thumbnails to be incredibly annoying. If they come back, I'd also like an option to turn them off.
-
I second the motion for an option instead of a forced addition.

Funny isnt it? And they almost seem to like it that way. Must be blissful ignorance. Wuhan seems to be more like that than the other places I've been. It may be a city of 8 million people, but it still very much has a small town mentality.
-
I would rather have the little cover art displayed any day over the little music note. At least make it an option for those of us who liked it.
-
Bring back the thumbnails!
We miss them.
The little music note feels so "old-school" now.
There should be an option to remove everything, including the note.
And a better cover art finder, the one used now is pretty useless.

I liked them also
-
Bring them back only as an option. They were just something else that would slow down the refresh of the page. Not everyone has a mega computer
-
I liked them too, and while I wouldn't say I have a mega-computer, the extra "refresh" time never bothered me (my computer holds it's own). I can understand that some people would like to have the option to turn it off though ...
-
Not everyone has a mega computer
My computer is rather old 1 1\2 years
Intel Pentium 4 3049 MHz MMX / Memory: Total - 523 MB
But it did just fine
-
I have stayed on 11.0.97 because I like the tiny thumbnails. I would take any method - option or not - to display them. It doesn't slow the display very much and is nice to see that the album art is associated with the music file.
-
Same for me, I did not upgrade yet because I don't want to lose the tumbnail.
Bring it back!!!
-
Resurrect them!
-
I wish Jim or Matt would chime in and let us know their position on the tiny thumbnails coming back. It is unusal that they would not comment on something that appears to have a lot of interest.

Agree. They definitely slow down the refresh. But they are very useful.
Hope the implementation as an option is not too hard to do.
-
Since I don't get to vote in that other election, NO, please don't bring them back unless they're an option. They're just blots on my screen!

No, I'm fairly sure I'd remember that. It would be unusual for a Brit :D

Could Jim or matt or someone please tell us if we can look forward to seeing the tiny thumbnails returning to version 11 in some way. Since I started this thread there have been a lot of opinions expressed in favor of them. You guys do great work and Media center is the best. :)
Chris
-
Maybe. We haven't decided what to do.
-
:D
-
I'll add my vote to the option route. I liked them, but sometimes I didn't like them. Need the option.
-
Not to dig up the past, But......
This would look great with the new Thumnail panes vewsheme view....
What about it guys, Can you bring this back?
-
Does anyone have a screenshot of this in action?

How tiny do you want these thumbnails? Here's a screenshot from my setup - the thumbs are 24x24, after I decided that 8x8 was too tiny!

What is being referred to here was a very very early version of MC 11.0 which replaced the blue musical note icon in the list view, with the files individual cover art.
