Title: Time slider not working for some video files
Post by: mindracing on October 26, 2004, 12:28:58 pm
I have some video clips where the slider doesn't work for fast forwarding thru the clip.

The same files work fine with the slider in WinDVD.

What is the reason for this and can it be fixed?

Thanks.

AVI's? MPEG's? Others?

Codec information could be even more useful. This tool may help to find out it: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm)

Something else about the files? Did they work before? Is anything changed after that? Are they very short? How did you get them? etc...

I can seek all video files I have.

Thanks for the replies.

It's just mpg.

They are clips ripped from a DVD.

The slider works fine in WinDVD but not MC and yes, they've always been like this.

It probably is a codec thing but that doesn't explain why they play in WinDVD.

I'll follow the link.

Thanks.
