Title: Tags not saved to database
Post by: Helan on October 31, 2004, 11:49:41 am
When I try to make changes to tags or add a playlist on the client computer everything seem fine, but if I close MC on the client and restart, all changes ar gone and back to prev state. No changes are saved and all my new playlists are gone. Is this the way it should be, or is there a setting somewere to allow clients to make changes and save new playlists. I just spent a long time editing all the genres and sort in new smartlists, just to see all my work gone.

Why don't I get some information that the changes I make are not saved? It's kind of irritating.

Server WinXP, client W2K server , MC 11.0.112

That is the way MC is designed. You can only save changes on the server machine, not the client.

It would be nice....

Michel.

If clients could modify tags on the server, then my MC-using friends would be able to save changes to my files. Not good, not good at all... I think it's good the way it is. Then again, if I could create several users for my database, then one could have mod rights (me) and the other not (my friends all using the same username)... Now THAT would be nice :-)
