We're still working on Media Center 11. We appreciate your feedback on it, but MC11 may not work as expected and we can't yet fully support it. When upgrading from MC 10, you will lose your view schemes. Some plugins still do not work.
We recommend that you use MC10 below, but if you want to use MC 11 while we're building it, PRICES are here:

It took longer than usual for me, but not that much more longer....

You said:
>>6. Changed: Readded right-click synchronization option for Portables.<<
Hmm, but this does not show up when I right click on my iPod. (Which *is* now showing as iPod F:). I do not see "Synchronize" when I right click.

Since a few builds ego I have a problem with the mp3 converter.
When I try to convert an mp3 again to mp3 it takes an eternity and I mean hours before completion, it use to take no more than half an hour in the same scenarios. In my situation sometimes I try to convert an mp3 with higher bitrate to a lower bitrate, last night took me four hours to convert just 10 songs!!!!! And I tried everything reinstall, change settings, etc.

In media center 10,173 I can with browsen in the InterNet my mouse buttons for forwards and back use. Into media center 11 last Build 113 does not go this it passes nothing I notices straight also right-clicks goes not!

MC leaves Empty Folders, mp3.XXXXXX, And ~!~MJTEMP~!~ (1).jpg Files For Images When Using Replace "_" With " "
Not sure if this is because there was a file already there, Or if the file name was too long, Oreven No Room On The Drive (there was 35 megs free)
but it left about 500 empty folders and 2000 files where they should not be.
And this was using replace In Fields & Path, Filename

I installed ver .117 and got this meassage after reboot:
"Media Center Install Wizard failed to install a necessary file.
Source: C\Program\JRiver\Media Center 11\Setup\JROptionsHelper.dll
Destination: C\Windows\system32\JROptionsHelper.dll"
Any idea?
MC works as far as I can see.

tlongacre,
The new plugin did not get installed correctly. It should resolve in the next build or email me and I will email you the correct file.

Audio Analyze does not go, to windows appears however per cent of indication with the files remains with 0%
-
This build failed to pick up the MP3 plug-in from previous builds and when I try to change the "encode" settings I get the usual message about "do you want to install the plug-in" then almost instantaneously I get "failed to connect to server : reason timed out" and the plug-in fails to install.
ferran9 - I've been posting about this since very early builds of MC11. I thought I was the only one having trouble with this.
-
Sirshambling, did you got any solution for that (setting to be changed?) or is defently a bug?
-
If i drag the position slider back to the start, MC instead jump further ahead into the song...

Hi, I cant seem to make split views (eg playing now and all audio) work anymore although I havent tried this for a while.
I thought previously I was supposed to ctrl shift click or alt shift click on the second view I wanted but neither combination works.
Is this dependant on a particular skin?
Thanks

Have a look in View>Split View. You have three different views their.
-
Ferran9 - sadly no solution yet. I'm hoping the guys here will sove it in the next few builds.

(Thanks for fixing the 0-byte issue!)
On to something new; maybe someone can confirm this behavior:
I create a smartlist that's nested (ex. Playlists\Random Albums\Random Jazz) and then add it to my Favorites in the navigation list. If I collapse the Playlists tree entirely and try to jump to the Random Jazz playlist from the nav list, it doesn't work. If I expand the playlists tree fully, then the nav list shortcut works.
Take care,
-Doug
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to be working after a restart.

(both with auto detect and 'hard coded' library url in the library manager)

If I try to "Remove from Library and send to Recycle Bin" while any other files are playing, MC crashes. When I reload, the files are deleted from the system, but I still have to highlight them again and delete them from the library. This only happens when files are playing.

6. Changed: Readded right-click synchronization option for Portables.
I missed who's asked for this, but thanks, that's neat.

Can not change song order by dragging in Playing Now (left side of screen)

Suddenly MC is not showing the Album name for 90% of my library . . . .
I had to use "Fill properties from filename" to restore them.
I KNOW all were tagged and saved, always showed properly.
. . . . later in the day, MC continues to drop tags (now it is track number) from files which have had tags previously.
Using Import & Repair does not remedy the situation.

Same here, but wanted to clarify that this this happens when any song is playing, not the one being deleted.
[edit: Been playing around with it more and discovered that the crash happens every time when the tag info window is open, and now seems unrelated to whether a song is playing]
Also having the mp3 plugin issue as described above re not installing/timing out.

Just as a note MediaCenter is not holding the current directory. So when you try and open a file it seems to default to the mediacenter directory where it used to remember the last folder used.
Just another File / Folder bug of the current version....
-
mhorton - After playing around, I found the same results as well, it happens when the tag window is open.
I've also noticed, or at least it seems to be a problem on my system, that the tree is not auto-expanding and auto-collapsing like it should.
-
I am still having trouble with the new Tivo plugin. When I enable it and try to browse from my Tivo, the media server appears briefly then disappears.
-
Using build 11.0.105
- Just done an import and am tagging some images.
Suddenly notice that half of my libraries "name" and "rating" info is now blank. I think it could be related to the import. I had this porblem with a previous build a while back too.
Also, I dont like it telling me it updated links for hundreds of files but not telling me which ones or what it did. Makes me nervous. Any way to get MC to generate a log file.
- Copying and then pasting a view scheme brings up a "working" window which never goes away
- Viewschemes still dont reflect all of the files in a particular smartlist when you click on that smartlist in a pane. Also, the fact that it never honours the sorting rules of the smartlists (ie "random"), makes viewing them in the panes useless for me.
-
I Found the souce of my dropped tag problem reported above:
Some album totles include a 'dash' such as:
"The Best Of - A Collection" which MC reinterprited to be a seperator as used elsewhere in the filenames. These files had been tagged and appeared properly in MC until this build when they were re-parsed and thus all tags after the mis-interprited ' - ' were moved/pushed to another tag field by this 'extra data' being used as a seperator.
Is there a way to prevent Album Names which include a 'space dash space'
in their titles from being broken into two tag fields? I mean short of editing all album names which include this in their titles? And Why, suddenly, did MC re-parse these files differently than it had been until now?
This has left me with a number of albums which now show the song Name as "01 Whipping Post" which there is no way to edit out the number other than manually . . . . (another opportunity for a nice powerful feature, one which will automatically remove portions of a tag such as all Numerals or the first/last x number of characters)

This could be a small bug in alpha 117: when MC opens it puts a small icon in the System Tray, when MC closes the icon in the system tray does not always disappear as it should. On those ocassions when the MC icon fails to disappear, if you left or right click on the MC icon, a window pops up indicating an error has occured that needs to be reported to Microsoft, after which the icon disappears. ?

ferran9 - I've been posting about this since very early builds of MC11. I thought I was the only one having trouble with this.
I too am not able to load plugin for MP3. Same almost instantaneous "failed to connect to server : reason timed out" and the plug-in fails to install. Unable to convert files until this is fixed. I too noticed slow conversions in the past but I was seeing around 10 songs per hour rather than 4 hours for 10 songs... converting 320 MP3's to 128 MP3's.

- Moving a view scheme to different location loses sorting rules.
- Tree is not updated after creating a smartlist (F9) or a view scheme.
- Right-click paste does not work in search box.
- Control bar covers parts of view when going to playing now (auto-hide off).
- Broken links are imported when .mpl files contain invalid filename locations.
- 'Rename file from properties' confirmation dialog box is reporting wrong information if there is a tag change already in progress. Number of files and fields to modify are incorrect.
- Sometimes when doing a "Shift-Delete / Send to Recycle Bin", MC will crash. Files are infact deleted so it's happening right afterwards, before being removed from the database.
- Visualization Studio is reversing flush colors upon save. ABCDEF changes to EFCDAB
more to come....

Modified some entries in the artist field such as "Van Gogh, Vincent" to Van Gogh, V."
When I use "Rename file from properties" to adjust the pathname of the file, the folder "Van Gogh, Vincent" is renamed to "Van Gogh, V" and not to "Van Gogh V.". So the period at the end is missing.
Pathname should be:
D:\Media\Image\Arts\Van Gogh, V.\ Sunflowers.jpg
instead of:
D:\Media\Image\Arts\Van Gogh, V\ Sunflowers.jpg
-
I am hoping it will support SACD. ;D Thats my biggest wishlist.
-
Deleting an image entry that has no associated image file in media library crashes 11.0.117.
To be more precise: The first time I try to remove from media library it crashes.
After restarting MC11 and repeat the same operation it works!
-
Bugs? Maybe . . .
1) MC is once again NOT going to Favorites within 'My Computer', but stops instead at My Compuer. I have replaced the Favorite and it worked for a time, now has stopped again. Favorites within My Library do work.
2) MC seems to be over-sensitive to mouse-clicks, misinterpreting a single-click for a double and thus playing a file when not wanted.
3) MC is erroneously reporting the playtimes of my library . . . I cannot imagine how 35000 files can play for the 6.9 YEARS reported by MC.
(This would require the average song playtime to be over 103 minutes)
4) um, I forget what #4 was . . . . ::)
