Title: Critical Error #31
Post by: rudeboymcc on November 03, 2004, 04:46:32 pm
Hi. i'm using the trial MC10 and it was all working fine for a while. then one day it said "Media Center has encountered Critical error #31. Some essential component is missing or corrupted. please uninstal and reinstall Media center".

well i uninstalled it, deleted the directory, used regcleaner to clear any registry keys left behind, and then reinstalled it, but i get the same thing even before i import any media. it does it completely randomly. and even more wierd is everything in the background works fine. i can browse, look through music etc.

it's just like internet exploere's "you have performed an illegal operation", which you can just move off screen adn carry on doign whatever it was you were doing.

what's this error about?

Something is corrupting an essential file.

Check for viruses / adware / cracks and then reinstall.

Make sure you're using the latest build of MC 10.  If you are, then it may be something strange on your system.  Virus checker, spyware detection, etc.
