Title: mp4/m4a support
Post by: marskid2 on November 11, 2004, 09:02:16 am
just wondering if MC 11 "natively supports mp4 and m4a.  i know in the build of MC 10 i have (10.0.173) there is a few second pause right before any non-native audio format is played, and there are no visualizations.  in the visualizations windows, it says

Media Center can not display visualiztions for this file type.  Visualizations are only availbable for internally supported file types. (mp3, ogg, wav, ape, etc.)

so, does MC11 "internally support" m4a and mp4 (and maybe even aac)

marskid2,

MC 11 (and 10) use Quicktime to play aac and so visualizations are not supported because for them to work MC must natively play the file.
