Title: Cover Art Questions...
Post by: tranceConscious on November 15, 2004, 03:05:18 am
I have a very big library of music, all sorted and put to properly named directories according to artist and year etc.

In each directory I have at least one .jpg called cover.jpg, or cover front.jpg etc.

Is there a way to handle all of these images and tag and rename them automatically according to the album directory they are in? Cause it's a big hassle to do this manually.

Please help...

I know but I'm not talking about windows.

It Sure Can!

Check out Tools --> Library Tools --> Fill Properties from Filename  (you can also right click on a selected file(s) to access this).

It includes folders (and the entire pathname) as things it can use to auto-fill the properties.  Just select the files to which you want to apply the changes and have at it.

MC does not do this automagically on import, but running the "Fill" Tool after you import only takes a second.  You can also easily use the companion "Rename Files from Properties" to sort new files into your directory structure.  I use MC for all my renaming/file-folder sorting tasks now ... It's actually one of my favorite features!
