I am rippign at very high speed, but encoding is very slow ( 0.3x) I did not have this problem when I ran MC 9. my settings at 128Kbps & "high quality".
I have also tried to instal the MC 9 plugin but the installer crashes.
Can anyone help, as I have just bought a bigger hardrive and want to start ripping my collection!!
thanks

Search for "Lame" here and you'll find a recent thread on this problem. It is probably the version of the encoder.

Hi JimH,
A big thank you. I downloaded another LAME.EXE file from somewhere and copied it into the directory ( replacing the one there already) Even though the new one ( infact the older version ) was a fraction of the size, I am now back at speed - 128kbps , HIgh quality and 3x.
a big thanks
