I have the “trial” version of MJ 8.0. Been trying it out for about 5 days now and encountered something strange. Last night I ran a “Scan Disk” and when I went to launch MJ 8.0, I get the following error message: “Failure to initialize Registration control”. Absolutely nothing else has changed on the machine. Any suggestions?

Sounds like MJ got corrupted somehow.
1st try reinstalling over current installation.
If that doesn't help, then uninstall/reinstall MJ.
U are running latest build ( 388 ) of MJ?

Yes. The build is (388). I did try and reinstall and at least have the MJ running . However, when I attemp to rip I receive the following:

I'l try a few other things and see where it gets me.
Thanks

Since it's having problems ripping then this would be the place to look: Check Tools>Options>Device Settings. Play around with the Audio CD Settings & Audio CD Copy (don't forget the default settings, though).
Could be ASPI related, not sure. Only use Win9x when I absolutely have to. Have run NT and it's variants (ie W2k) since it was alpha/beta.

>"Failure to Initialize Registration Control"
Geesh, that's not far from "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."
Another candidate for an error message link to the corresponding help pages?
