Title: OT: Animated avatars
Post by: Shelly on November 25, 2004, 09:16:52 am
I'm fascinated by those animated avatars.  How does one go about creating them?

some of them are included in the forum program you can change to in your profile

some of them are just GIF images that have layers, and you can create them with any Gif Animation Creator as long as the image is less than 100x100

I use ImageReady which is part of the PhotoShop package. ULead's GifAnimator is good too. As King mentioned, you create a frame for each still then assign a duration. It's pretty easy.

I've not used it except in a quick tutorial but I think ImageReady also lets you "tween", ie you can take two similar graphics and it will fill in the frames progressing from one to the other. :)

Good luck!

I want to see the dogs head spin around, kind of like the the movie "The Exorcist"

green pea soup would be a nice touch

ROFL.  No one could ever accuse you of lacking imagination and creativity!
