Title: Feature Request
Post by: Fred1 on November 26, 2004, 03:06:27 am
Hi,

i'd like to be able to fix the Stadard View "Always on Top", just like it is possible in the Mini View.

Background:
MediaCenter runs on top of a wrapper application that controls my house and all my TV and HiFi equipment. Optically it is integrated inside a tab of that application.

But unfortunately every time i click outside MediaCenter it goes to the background (behind the wrapper application) and must be reshown somehow (Alt-Tab).

In the Mini View it is ok, because it stays on top.

Is it possible for the Standard View to activate that feature in Version 10/11 of MediaCenter?

Thanks.
Fred

Fred,

What is the name of the wrapper app?

Michel,

it is an application i wrote myself in VisualBasic.
It controls all of the lights, infrared-devices, coffee machine, Shoutcast radio etc. in my House.

It also will control MediaCenter via it's COM-interface - for timer driven events (wake up in the morning...).

In MC11, TheaterView has an option for "keep focus".  I'm not sure about MC 10.

Also in 11, you can add buttons for programs or web pages.

JimH,

thanks for your reply.

But i want it just the other way around and i want to use Standard View because i'm heavily tagging and working on my library.

I'd like to integrate MC into my application. So my interface has to surround MC. Therefore MC has to stay "On Top" because otherwise MC vanishes behind my application if i click outside MC.

Is it hard to implement that "Stay On Top " feature as an option in the View menu?
In the Mini View it is already done.
